Double Helix

This grandiose spiral staircase was one of my highlights out of our trip to the Vatican Museum. Anyone who's been there would know how popular this place is with tourists...needless to say the staircase saw a constant flow of people and I soon gave up the idea of having a shot of this double helix in isolation. Fortunately I tried an idea that worked - the people were always there but magically not in the photo!
