We witnessed something truly amazing and I feel even more fortunate to have been able to capture and bring back to share with everyone. For most of the week we toured Iceland, we were chasing the elusive Aurora Borealis in the midst of some unfavourable weather conditions. This night, despite the poor forecast, for a very brief window the stars aligned for us and Nature showed its magic! We just happened to be near an Iceberg lagoon surrounded by mountains and glaciers underneath the stars as the light danced above us. Even more over the top is the red glow in the distance of the lava flow from the currently active Bardarbunga volcano. This is rare, even by Icelandic standards.
