Aldeyjarfoss is often said to be one of the most photogenic waterfalls in Iceland - now that's saying alot. I definitely did not want to miss out a visit to this waterfall in Northern Iceland - for those who've been here, you know very well this is hidden WAY remote and out of the way...its something that I very much underestimated - its one of those routes that you cant really trust the GPS with and have to go with your gut - but then your gut tells you to turn back after more than an hour of driving into the middle of nowhere on rough dirt roads. And then you have to keep going until the road gets too bumpy and rough for your poor little rental car (only 4x4 can pass through). Then what? Well, then you hike the rest of the way, even if its midnight to finally get to this spot! Is this view worth all that effort??
